Introduction to Eng IV Per C.

Hello, my name is Matthew Yang. I am American-born Chinese who was born in Boston, MA and raised in Plantation, FL. I have the ability to speak three languages. My three languages are American English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. I live in a double parent home with an older brother who now attends Boston University. I have an interest in aviation, cooking, and mathematics. I am currently a senior attending at North Broward Preparatory School. I have attended this school since 9th grade and have seen many changes across campus from teachers leaving to walls being remodeled. In the end of my sophomore year, I was made a member of the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is a group where students help out with fundraisers such as the talent show and the spring fling. During that time, I began to tutor my fellow students in various subjects from Math to Spanish. I am lucky to be in this group as well as meeting new friends.
I am the president and founder of the Chinese Language and Culture that started in late 2010. I began this organization to show everyone how important Chinese people are at our school. By starting this club, many students and teachers become enthusiastic to the language and culture. My first bake sale took place on May 13, 2011 and our club made a total of $85 during two lunch periods. I was proud of my fellow officers for helping me to create this and make it very successful.
I am glad to be a part of Mr. Parson’s English class. I want to tell you that English is one of my favorite subjects because I like to engage myself in literature and writing. I find out that by writing more papers and reading more books, one can do better in the course.
